While local communities are trying to meet growing demand for services with shrinking resources, historic numbers of Americans are looking for ways to serve their country.

National service provides an answer to both of these challenges.

Save Service in America is a campaign to educate our nation’s policymakers on the essential role national service plays in communities across the country.  With budget pressures threatening national service programs, local communities could lose the vital supports provided by ordinary citizens driven to serve in education, mentoring, disaster relief and senior services.

The Save Service in America campaign is led by a coalition of national service advocates; Voices for National Service, ServiceNation and America Forward. Founded in 2011 in response to a congressional budget proposal that zeroed out funding for the Corporation for National and Community Service, Save Service in America continues to work to ensure that our nation’s leaders recognize the fundamental role that national service plays in supporting our communities, strengthening our economy and preparing our nation’s workforce for a brighter and more competitive future.
